Here's our car a few days before we headed out:
_Don't forget to check out our latest video, located on the front page, of our car testing at Infineon Raceway. Many thank yous to Infineon Raceway and AFM for making that event possible.
_Finals this week for UCD students, which is good and bad. Good for us because no one is in the machine shop because they're studying. Bad for us because our members are studying and we can't utilize most of the open machine shop time. Regardless, with enough parts fabricated, we were able to piece the car together into a roller.
Steering knuckle machined and attached. This was this week's biggest project as it was the final and most crucial piece to get the car into 'roller' status.
HVE progressing even further.
Lots of elbow grease and one late night later, the car is now rolling.
HVE fitted into place for testing.
Car packed up and ready to head down to the bay area for a presentation.
_Team captain Matt Klein was invited down to give a presentation to the Electric Auto Association - Silicon Valley chapter, hence our big push to bring the car together. The presentation went very well and the car gathered much interest from the members of the EAA Silicon Valley chapter. They even graciously gave the UCD Formula Hybrid team a donation and treated the presenters to lunch! Thanks guys!
_Week 10 marks the end of winter quarter 2011 lectures for students at UC Davis. Here's this week's progress:

Further progress on the High Voltage Enclosure.
Rear suspension just about ready to go.
Front suspension started.

_Chassis has been finished and is now being painted. Focus has now switched to the vehicle's powertrain systems.

IC Engine back in place for now.
Steering assembly has been cut to length, machined, and detail-worked. All that is left is for final fitment and welding.
E-stop buttons and shoulder harness bar are tacked into place.
Rear cross braces and brake light tabs are welded in place.
_Differential/chain tensioner mounts are tacked in place.
Shifter linkages fabricated, awaiting final fitment and welding.
Cockpit cross braces fitted in place.
Gasoline fuel filler cap fitted in place.
Differential disassembled, awaiting rebuild/service.
Front bell cranks bored and bearings are fitted in place.
